Whether you are 12 or 90 or somewhere in between, it’s a great game that offers opportunity to enjoy the summer outdoors. In simple terms, it’s like curling, except on grass. Even better, it can be played in games of two members per team, three or four, and singles. You can practice on your own. No dedicated ice time; so long as the club is open, you can play.

The featured picture explains some quick essentials. It’s really a simple game to learn. We will provide all the playing equipment; you need only bring sneakers and an appetite to learn. We have coaching staff who will teach you the fundamentals and have you bowling in minutes. Then we have programs and club games that will offer you the possibility to progress to whatever level you may be interested in.

Willowdale Lawn Bowls Club (WLBC) is one of over 120 clubs in Ontario. We are unique: we have three greens that facilitate more bowlers playing at any point in time than any other club. We have two grass greens and one that is artificial (a carpet surface) that means that bowls can be played for a longer duration in the year (at least two more months, starting April and ending in October).

This year (2018) we have introduced a trial membership that offers exceptional use of our facilities during a defined period (beginning on the date of your first coaching session). This membership entitles you to:

Use of club equipment necessary to play: bowls, jack, mats

Entry to the club to play any day of the week during open hours on unoccupied rinks.
